The Oppo Enco Buds are Unremarkable.

I meant it when I started the Oppo Enco Buds had no frills. This straightforward set of truly wireless earbuds featuring an in-canal fit, touch controls, and a simple charging case with a USB Type-C connection. The earpieces are tiny, comfortable, and stylish enough not to draw too much attention. The shiny appearance of my white review unit's earpieces and charging case appealed to me. The earpieces weigh 4g each, while the charging case weighs 37g.

The charging case is compact, pocketable, and well-made with a magnetic cover and a small indicator light on the front. When the lid is opening, the earpieces activate and instantly pair with the most recently connected device. Because there is no pairing button, you must unplug the earpieces from all source devices to activate pairing mode. The sales package contains three sets of ear tips in various sizes and a charging cord for the case.

Touch-sensitive zones on the earpieces let you control calls, playback, and volume. A single-tap on either side plays or pauses music; double-tap skips to the next track, and a triple-tap activates the low-latency game mode. Touching and holding the left or right earpiece reduces or increases the volume, respectively. The touch gestures are responsive and easy to learn and use. However, the lack of app support means what we can't customize these controls. There are no earpiece sensors to pause playback when removed from your ears.

 So the Oppo Enco Buds will keep playing until you manually remain your source device or both earpieces are placing back into the charging case. You can use either earpiece independently of the other, even while one of them is charging.

The Oppo Enco Buds employ Bluetooth 5.2 for communication, compatibility with the SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs. The earbuds include 8mm, dynamic drivers with a frequency range of 20-20,000Hz, and are dust and water-resistant to IP54 standards. For a personalized fit, three pairs of silicone ear tips are providing in the box.

The Oppo Enco Buds contain 40mAh batteries in the earpieces and a 400mAh battery in the charging pouch. I got around five hours of listening time each charge on the earpieces, with the case adding about three more costs for a total of 20 hours of listening time per charging cycle. Given the features and pricing of the Enco Buds, this is adequate.

The Oppo Enco Buds have a Clean, Lively Sound.

Although the absence of features may be off-putting to some, the Oppo Enco Buds deliver on performance. The clear, pleasant sound of these earbuds, as well as their connection reliability and other essential features, impressed me. The low-latency gaming mode seemed to make a slight difference in terms of audio delay. The primary bedside alarm clock is a classic design that provides a quick and handy method to access all the information you want as soon as you wake up. The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential includes rubber grips on the bottom to keep it securely in place on a smooth, hard surface.

The rear of the gadget features a power socket for the accompanying power adapter, a physical switch to silence the microphones for privacy, and a pretty helpful USB Type-A connector.

You can connect a charging cable to this port and use the Smart Clock Essential to charge other devices. Two microphones are located just above the screen, and the top of the gadget features physical controls for controlling volume and playback and setting alarms. Of course, who may use voice commands to manage all of these tasks?

The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential uses Google Assistant for voice commands and controls, and it functions similarly to any other intelligent Assistant-powered Google device. The speaker, which has a rated output of 3W, is located at the top of the Smart Clock Essential and fires upwards. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 and 4GB of RAM and an Amlogic CPU. Night light with a rated brightness of up to 31 lumens is located around the rear of its body.

Lenovo Smart Clock Performance and Features

Although Google provided the first smart speakers with Google Assistant, manufacturers like Lenovo, Xiaomi, and Sonos have subsequently joined the market with their own devices. They function with Google Assistant in the same way as Google's smart speakers do: always-on microphones listen for wake words, and the speakers can do a variety of activities such as answering questions, controlling smart appliances, and playing audio material.

The Lenovo Smart Clock, Essential's display, is in addition to the full-fledged intelligent speaker features. It's straightforward, displaying basic information like the time, weather, and day of the week. You can't customize it or alter what the screen shows, but I don't think that's a problem; it's designing to be used as a clock, and it does that nicely. What may use voice commands to adjust the display's brightness, and the dimmest level isn't too harsh on the eyes in a dark environment.

Because the gadget lacks a touch screen, several operations are controlling by buttons, such as changing the volume, playing and stopping content, and setting alarms. While the volume and playback controls are straightforward, setting alarms using the pushbutton is extremely difficult and prone to mistake. I preferred utilizing voice commands to set alarms since they were much faster to perform.Surprisingly, the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential has a night light on the rear that can be activated and deactivated using voice commands. It's handy to have gentle lighting, which functions similarly to a bit of night light.

However, I had to use exact voice instructions since they frequently interfered with my speech commands to control other bright lights in my home. The order "Hey Google, turn on the light" triggered both the brilliant light in the same room as the device and the night light on the Smart Clock Essential. A separate "Hey Google, turn off the night light" command was required to resolve the problem.

The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential's sound quality isn't especially outstanding; the unusual angle of the speaker, its size and output rating, and the sonic signature provides a harsh sound that I didn't find particularly pleasant.

Although I did not dislike the quality of the sound for Google Assistant voice replies and even voice-based material such as podcasts, it did not sound very well at the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential with music.

The high, medial piercing heard with cymbals, high hats, and retro-inspired vocals are all a bit ungenerously harsh when you hear a version of Maroon 5's Maps by Postmodern Jukebox. It may minimize this by decreasing the level, but that failed to use it as a speaker in very particular circumstances more than sometimes.

A minor but significant issue I experienced with the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential was its microphones. However, they worked well for me and accurately picked up wake phrases and voice commands for Google Assistant from a close distance.

Despite being closer to the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential, I occasionally had my Google Nest Audio (located in a different room) pick up and act on the command instead. What overcame this by speaking gently and approaching the Smart Clock Essential more closely. Perhaps better mics might have prevented this strange situation from occurring in the first place.
